This Privacy Policy explains how PowerExams (“PowerExams,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you visit powerexams.com and use our certification and exam-preparation services (the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We aim to collect only what we need to run the Services:

• Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and authentication details. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in plain text.
• Study activity. To power progress tracking, study plans, and analytics, we store the practice questions and exams you attempt, your answers, scores, bookmarks, notes, flashcard reviews, and related learning data you generate.
• Purchase information. When you buy access, payment is processed by our payment provider (see “Payments” below). We receive confirmation of your purchase and your license/entitlement, but we do not collect or store your full card number or banking details.
• Support and feedback. If you contact us or submit feedback, we keep the message and any contact details you provide so we can respond and improve the Services.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested to deliver and secure the site.

How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including saving your progress and personalizing study recommendations.
• To create and secure your account and grant access to content you have purchased.
• To respond to your questions, feedback, and support requests.
• To send you service-related messages, such as study reminders you have opted into. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, and technical issues.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to serve third-party advertising.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Creem, which acts as our merchant of record and payment processor. When you check out, your payment details are provided directly to Creem and are governed by Creem’s own privacy policy. We receive only the information needed to fulfill your order and grant access (for example, confirmation of purchase and your license key). Creem may appear as the seller on your card or bank statement.

AI-assisted features

Some features, such as the AI Tutor, send the relevant question, your answer, and related study context to a third-party AI provider in order to generate an explanation or response. We send only what is needed to produce the reply and do not include your payment details. Do not enter sensitive personal information into AI features.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the Services, who process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. These currently include our hosting and infrastructure provider, our database and authentication provider, our payment provider (Creem), our transactional email provider, and our AI provider. We share information with these providers only as needed to deliver the Services.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the Services to function — for example, to keep you signed in and to remember which content you have unlocked. These entitlement and session cookies are set as secure, HTTP-only cookies where appropriate. We do not use advertising cookies.

Data retention

We keep your account and study data for as long as your account is active so your progress is available to you. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we will delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal or accounting obligations.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, or to close your account, contact us at hello@powerexams.com and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

Children

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International users

PowerExams is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
